We supply and install replacement PVC-U doors
and windows that keep that new look for years
on end and require only minimal maintenance. No
more sanding, priming and painting and the house
reeking of paint for days.
The basic properties of PVCu make it ideal for
window and door application, because it does not
rot or biologically decompose, it is resistant
to weathering with low maintenance requirements,
it is tough on impact, it retains its shape within
normal climatic temperatures and it can be reshaped
at very high temperature and can therefore be
recycled. This material is also commonly called
uPVC (or even PVC).
We use the Five Star system,
which was the first to manufacture and
supply a PVC-U window system in the UK – way back
in 1979. Our reasons for selecting them are:
1) Experience
counts and with more years manufacturing PVC-U
systems than any other British Company, they
better understand your needs.
2) FIVE STAR is the original five chamber
system which means you have low maintenance
advantages plus a warmer, quieter more comfortable
home. Its hidden PCE gasket (another Five
Star first) guarantees that your windows will
remain well sealed for years to come.
3) Quality of performance, security and manufacture
are all independently verified by the stringent
tests of the UK’s leading testing houses.
ISO9001 accreditation is backed up by full
compliance with the needs of Document L, holds
BS7413, PAS023/024 for performance and BS7950
for security.
Security
Our systems are fitted
with the latest Yale
locking devices and all are internally glazed
for maximum security.
With up to 14 locking points on each system,
Yale multipoint locks provide high levels
of security and guarantee you complete peace
of mind. Engineered to provide high levels
of security against forced attack by gripping
the frame and sash together, this system also
creates a tight weather seal.
Yale locks are endorsed by the Master Locksmith’s
Association and all leading insurance companies.
Secured by Design is a recognised standard
managed by ACPO (The Association of Chief
Police Officers) and endorsed by the Home
Office. As a licence holder Yale UK can use
the distinctive logo to promote its excellent
quality products as a “Police Preferred Specification”
and lead the trend towards higher security.
We only use Pilkington
K Glass™ – the acknowledged world leader in
their field.
Pilkington K Glass™, which usually forms the
inner pane of a double glazing unit, allows less
heat to escape through your windows than ordinary
glass. Thanks to a special energy saving coating
which lets the sun's rays through, but reflects
heat from fires and radiators back into your home.
Heat which ordinary double glazing allows to escape.
Pilkington K Glass also significantly reduces
unsightly internal condensation and eliminates
‘cold spots’. These qualities make it ideal for
homes which want energy-efficient and elegant
windows, doors and conservatories.
FENSA stands for the Fenestration Self-Assessment
Scheme. It has been set up by the Glass
and Glazing Federation (GGF), with Government
approval, in response to the new Building Regulations
for England and Wales
From 1 April 2002, all replacement glazing in
dwellings will come within the scope of the Building
Regulations. From then on, anyone who installs
replacement windows or doors will have to comply
with improved thermal performance standards. All
of North West Window Systems products comply.
